Safety Tips For Your New Mirror

DON'T TRY TO LIFT IT BY YOURSELF

There's nothing more exciting than a new mirror. The temptation is of course to hang it straight away -  first, we always recommend a quick reminder on these common-sense safety tips:
  • Wear sturdy shoes

  • 2 people minimum - when lifting large, heavy glass objects

  • Dry hands

  • Work as a team

  • Bend your knees NOT your back

Even if you have ordered the smallest mirror size, make sure you wear gloves and shoes when handling glass.

HANGING YOUR MIRROR SAFELY

    • We recommend using a professional fixer

    • Pay attention to the weight and bulk of your mirror

    • Double check your measurements

    • Use wall plug types appropriate to your wall:

DRYWALL: Use HOLLOW WALL ANCHORS (heavy duty)

BRICK: Use RAWL BOLTS (long)

DO NOT USE NAIL-IN or ADHESIVE HOOKS TO HANG HEAVY MIRRORS

Our mirrors under 10KG come with gold fitted D-Rings which can then be suspended using picture wire - see below picture

On our heavier mirrors over 10 kgs we use a strap hanger style fitting which must not be used with cord or wire under ANY circumstances

The strap hangers must not be moved from the factory position on the back of the mirror.

IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS PLEASE CONSULT AN EXPERIENCED FIXING PROFESSIONAL.
